1. How do I apply for a job with the City of Norwalk?

The City of Norwalk only accepts online applications for employment. We only accept applications for positions we currently have open. If there is an open position you are interested in, please go to our job openings page to submit your application through our Online Recruiting System.

We do not accept applications submitted through email, fax, or mail. Only applications submitted through our online recruiting system will be considered.

2. What do I do if I’m interested in a position, but it is not open?

You can fill out a job interest card by filling out request notification by category form online. You will be notified via email as soon as the category you are interested has a job opening. Job Interest Card

3. I missed the deadline - can I still apply?

As with any position, once a closing date has passed, no applications will be accepted or considered.

4. I see that you have various types of jobs. Can I submit an application for any of these positions at any time?

No, Personnel will only accept applications for those positions that are currently under active recruitment; however, you can fill out a job interest form online. You will be notified via email as soon as the category you are interested has a job opening Job Interest Form
