(Norwalk, Conn.) Today, September 15, 2023, the City of Norwalk announced its new free mobile bottle redemption pop-up events, beginning tomorrow, September 16, in partnership with EyeRecycle. These events will allow residents to recycle their collected cans and plastic and glass bottles for cash.
The EyeRecycle bottle redemption pop-up events will take place at 98 South Main Street on:
- Saturday, September 16th from 10:00 AM – 1:00 pm;
- Monday, September 25th from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM; and
- Monday, October 9th from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
The EyeRecycle program aims to help residents reclaim their money while recycling aluminum cans and plastics and glass bottles.
Here's how the pop-up events events work:
- It's a free service that’s just for Norwalk residents.
- The program accepts plastic and glass bottles and aluminum cans.
- There’s no limit on the number of containers a resident can bring.
- A resident instantly receives coins or cash for each 5-cent redeemable container.
The City of Norwalk asks that users pack any glass bottles in a box. A resident may bring their own redeemable bottles and cans in any bag or box. They will also have the option of purchasing an EyeRecycle reusable bag with a fill line for 50 cents, which will streamline the bottle redemption process. A single EyeRecycle bag filled with cans and bottles will be worth $10.00.
We ask that residents enter from the South Main Street entrance to help with traffic flow through the John H. Ryan Park Parking Lot, located at 98 South Main Street.
