The City of Norwalk Launches New Online Recreation and Parks Registration System

(Norwalk, Conn.) Today, August 23, 2023, Mayor Rilling announced the debut of the Department of Recreation and Parks' online registration system. Through Active Net, an easy-to-use online platform, registration for recreation programming will be available in English and Spanish starting September 1, 2023. For the first time, the Recreation and Parks Department will offer participants the opportunity to register for many of its programs online, including: 

  • Adult Sports Leagues;
  • Adult and Youth Aquatic Programs; 
  • Youth and Teen Programs;
  • Seasonal Events; 
  • Summer Camps; 
  • Use of Athletic Fields and Public Park Spaces; 
  • Cultural Events and Celebrations; and
  • Indoor Facility Rentals.

"The City of Norwalk is excited to announce the rollout of our new online Recreation and Parks system, offering residents a convenient way to register for recreation programs and events," said Mayor Rilling. "The City offers a wealth of recreation programs to all ages, including Adult Sports Leagues, Youth and Teen Programs, Aquatic Programs and more, and now residents can access a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate registration system from the comfort of their homes."

Registration for the City's Fall recreation programs opens on Friday, September 1, 2023. Participants need to create their own Active Net account to register for Recreation and Parks programming online. Participants can open their account now by visiting and clicking “Sign in/up.” The Recreation and Parks Department will verify each participant's account within 24 hours, after which users will receive a confirmation email once their account has been approved. 

Active Net has the capability and technical assets to manage the registration process securely and efficiently. The online program also provides the Recreation and Parks Department with streamlined automatic reports, making the registration process faster and more convenient for users and City staff.
