Educating the Public

In addition to traditional policing activities, the Community Services and Community Policing Unit officers are responsible for planning and coordinating non-traditional functions and events for youth and adults alike..Some of the programs the unit oversees include:

• Citizen's Police Academy
• Public Safety Cadet Program
• National Night Out
• Cops and Kids program, which unites the police with the community
• PAL Children's Holiday Party, which is held each December
• Coffee with a Cop Program
• Youth Justice Academy at Pathways
• Water Safety Day
• Police & The Youth Program
• Norwalk Police Activities League
