After a Home Fire

Fire Recovery Information

Going through a fire can be a terrible and often devastating experience. If the fire was severe or if someone was injured, then you are probably feeling overwhelmed at this point. The feelings of shock, loss, grief and confusion that often accompany this crisis are completely normal but can make the difficult process of recovery physically and mentally draining.

It is important for you to realize and remember as you struggle to return to a normal life that you are not alone... and our purpose in bringing you this "After the Fire" handbook (below) is to help you through the recovery process.

The Norwalk Fire Department regrets that you have a need for this information, and we hope this information will help make this experience a little more bearable. Our goal is to help make a confusing situation a little more manageable or a frightening one a little less overwhelming.
