Find Out Whether You Are Registered to Vote
To see if you are registered, check the online database to verify that your listed address is your current residential address and that your status is listed as active. Check to see if you are enrolled in the political party of your choice or are unaffiliated with a party. Deadlines for registering to vote can be found here.If, for some reason you miss these deadlines Connecticut allows for Election Day Registration (EDR), so if you have not registered to vote by the cut-off dates, it is still possible to come into City Hall on Election Day — November 3rd (between 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.). Persons wishing to do so must have a valid I.D. and with current proof of Norwalk residency (30 days or less) — and vote at City Hall. There is no EDR at regular polling places.
Updating Incorrect Information On Your Registration
If your address is incorrect, you are not enrolled in the correct party, or your status is listed as inactive or deleted, you will need to submit updated information to the registrar of voters' office.The same registration form is used for name changes, new addresses, party affiliation changes, and correcting any other incorrect or no longer current information.
- If you are registered but the address is not your current one, fill out the registration form with the current information and check the box for address change. You may also add a mailing address or post office box in the space provided.
- If you are registered but your name has changed or is misspelled, fill out the registration form with the current information and check the box for name change.
- If you are registered but you wish to enroll with a different political party or with no party, fill out the registration form with the current information and check the box for party enrollment change.
- If you status is listed as inactive or deleted or if you are correcting any other information on your registration, fill out the registration form with the current information.
