Personnel & Labor Relations

Mission Statement

The mission of the Personnel and Labor Relations Department is to:

  • Administer the city's compensation plans and employee benefit programs
  • Assist departments in recruiting, selecting, and training new employees
  • Conduct analyses of job classifications
  • Conduct periodic employee training and safety programs
  • Maintain employee records
  • Provide personnel and labor relations services to all city departments
  • Represent the city's interest in collective bargaining, grievance, and arbitration matters

Sexual Harassment Prevention 

The Time's Up Act (Public Acts 19-16 and 19-93) requires an employer to post information concerning the illegality of sexual harassment and the remedies available to victims of sexual harassment.
