2023 MUNICIPAL ELECTION: NOVEMBER 7, 2023
2024 PRESIDENTIAL & STATE/FEDERAL ELECTION: NOVEMBER 5, 2024
REGISTRATION: IN PERSON, BY MAIL, OR ON-LINE:
For the November 7th Election, the last day to register to vote is October 31, 2023. Mail to the Registrar's Office (Room 103, Norwalk City Hall, Norwalk CT, 06851), or Register In Person by hand-delivery to the Registrars office, the DMV, or voter-registration agency, or register on-line, based on your Connecticut Drivers' License, using the Secretary of the State's website.
The Registrar's office will be open until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday evening October 31, 2023.
Note: Persons whose rights as to age, citizenship, or residence mature after October 31, may apply to register, in person, up to Noon November 6, 2023.
Also Note: Connecticut law allows for Same Day Registration (SDR) for general elections, so if you have not registered to vote by the general election cut-off dates, it is still possible to come into City Hall on Election Day — November 7 (between 6:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.) register and vote. Persons wishing to do so must prove their identity and their Norwalk residency. This can be done by a single valid I.D., such as a current Connecticut Driver's License, or with documents which prove identity and residence separately, such as an I.D with name and old address (which proves identity), plus a current (with the last 30 days) utility bill or other document proving Norwalk residency — and vote at City Hall.
There is NO Election Day Registration in any Primary Election. There is NO Election Day Registration at the regular polling places – it is only conducted at City Hall where the election officials have access to the on-line Connecticut Voter Registration System.
