Duties

Emergency management involves actions taken to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate against natural and man-made disasters.

Throughout the year, we work with City Departments, local organizations, such as non-profits and Houses of Worship and the private sector to help them be better prepared for emergencies. We also work with the School District, private schools, and pre-schools o help ensure all levels of schools in Norwalk have plans and procedures in place.

In addition to organizing the Annual open house with DPW, Emergency Management often participates in safety fairs and events, as well as conducts presentations to help residents prepare for disasters.
