Caregiver/Companion Parking Pass-

In commitment to ensuring beach and park access to all Norwalk residents, Norwalk Recreation and Parks offers a Caregiver/Companion Parking Pass reserved for 18+ residents who have a caregiver or companion to assist in driving them to our beaches and parks.

The Caregiver/Companion Parking Pass is assigned to the resident, not to a single vehicle. The resident is responsible to retain and distribute the permit to the caregiver who is driving the resident to the beaches or parks. It will include a photograph of the resident as well as the year in which the pass is valid. The permit will need to be displayed, facing outward, on the rearview mirror when parked.

The pass holder (resident) MUST BE PRESENT in the vehicle for the pass to be valid. The pass cannot be used if the resident is not present in the vehicle. The caregiver/companion is not permitted to use this pass for personal use and entrance to beaches or parks. This will result in potentially receiving a parking violation from LAZ Parking for misuse of the pass.

In order to obtain a Caregiver/Companion Parking Pass, the resident must:

  • Hold a valid State of Connecticut identification card with a Norwalk address. Norwalk Recreation and Parks will make a copy of your identification for our records
  • Complete a Caregiver/Companion Parking Pass form (available March 2024) and return it to Norwalk Recreation and Parks
  • Come to the Recreation and Parks office in City Hall (Room 225) to have their photograph taken, which will be affixed to the Caregiver/Companion Parking Pass.
    • Note: If a resident is unable to make it to the building, one of our staff members will be happy to meet you at your vehicle and take your photograph. Please call our office at 203-854-7806 for assistance.

This pass is not for child caregivers or out-of-town residents. It is strictly reserved for residents over the age of 18 who require assistance accessing Norwalk beaches and parks. This pass must be applied for annually.
