Community Police Services & Crime Prevention

Responsibilities


The Community Services Division is committed to the development and continuity of proactive community crime prevention programs. The unit is also responsible for the following:

  • Bicycle safety programs and helmet programs for children
  • Citizens Police Academy
  • Crime prevention programs for senior citizens
  • Crime prevention talks for community safety
  • Dissemination of public information to the media
  • Neighborhood Block Watch and tenant group meetings
  • Review and authorization of permits for special events (permit form available from the City Clerk's office, City Hall)
