What is GIS

GIS is a technology to understand and solve problems associated with government information which has a geographic dimension, allowing the efficient deployment of resources and delivery of service.
Norwalk’s GIS was created by the City of Norwalk for its governmental use. The City’s GIS is based on 2007 aerial photography, dozens of data layers, and integration with key city databases. The data on this website is updated on an annual basis. Aerial photography is updated approximately every 5-7 years.
